FEAST OF TRUMPETS

trumpet

The best way to learn about His appointed times is from His word and that is exactly what we will do. Leviticus 23:23-25 says:

YAHWEH said to Moses, "Say to the Israelites: 'On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. Do no regular work, but present an offering made to YAHWEH by fire."

In Numbers, Yahweh was talking to Moses and telling him to give the Israelites certain commands and instructions. He covers various sacrifices that were to be made. We do not sacrifice animals to Yahweh now. Let's read more about the trumpets in Numbers 29, verses 1 to 6:

"'On the first day of the seventh month hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. It is a day for you to sound the trumpets. As an aroma pleasing to YAHWEH, prepare a burnt offering of one young bull, one ram and seven male lambs a year old, all without defect. With the bull prepare a grain offering of three-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil; with the ram, two-tenths, and with each of the seven lambs, one-tenth. Include one male goat as a sin offering to make atonement for you. These are in addition to the monthly and daily burnt offerings with their grain offerings and drink offerings as specified. They are offerings made to YAHWEH by fire--a pleasing aroma.

Trumpets are mentioned many times throughout the Bible. The verses above are pretty specific about the "Feast of Trumpets." The trumpets used to sound to gather His people and, in the Book of Revelation, we read of trumpets being sounded by the messengers of Yahweh. Let's take a look at Revelation 11:15-19:

The seventh messenger sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: 'The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Elohim and His Messiah, and He will reign for ever and ever.' And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before YAHWEH, fell on their faces and worshiped YAHWEH, saying: 'We give thanks to you YAHWEH Elohim Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign. The nations were angry; and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your saints and those who reverence your name, both small and great--and for destroying those who destroy the earth.' Then YAHWEH's temple in heaven was opened, and within His temple was seen the ark of His covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a great hailstorm.

Wow! Do you think anyone on this Earth will miss THIS EVENT! Sounds pretty loud to me! Remember the number SEVEN is the number of completion. When the seventh messenger sounds the seventh trumpet, what do you think MIGHT happen? Could it happen on His Day (or Feast) of Trumpets; in the seventh Month?

Let's do some activities before taking a quiz on this special time of the year!
