LESSON 4 - NOAH

brothers

Noah loved Yahweh.

Yahweh told Noah to build a big boat because He was going to make it rain. The boat was called The Ark.

laugh1 Noah cut trees to make The Ark. He was very careful to do just what Yahweh wanted. The people saw Noah building this great big boat on dry land with no water around and they laughed at him.

It took Noah a very long time to build this Ark; maybe a hundred years!

lizard catandfishWhen The Ark was done, Yahweh told Noah to gather food and water and a few of each kind of animal to put on The Ark. Noah did just what Yahweh told him to do.

After the animals and food were put into The Ark, Noah's family went in and everything was ready for Yahweh to shut the door.

When the door was shut, it began to rain and it rained hard for 40 days and 40 nights. It rained so much that even the tops of the mountains were covered with water!

When Noah and his family left The Ark, Yahweh made a promise to Noah and to us.

The promise was that the earth would never be all covered with water again.

Yahweh gave Noah a sign of His promise. That sign was a rainbow. Have you seen a rainbow? Here are a few pictures of rainbows:

This is a rainbow in Maine.

This is a rainbow right above the water beneath the Falls.

LESSON 4 - ACTIVITIES

There were some activities in the Lesson and we pray you did them before clicking to come here!

This is a "finger puppet" page. First, have someone print this out for you. Next, color each of the pictures and carefully cut them out (remember to get permission first!). If you use a glue stick and glue the tabs together for each one, you will have your own animal finger puppets. Now, pretend you are helping Noah and GET THEM ON THE ARK!

Next, you need to print out the picture and color it. You may want to glue it onto a heavier sheet of paper. Cut it out (with permission, of course!) or have someone help you with it. Only cut on the solid lines, the dotted lines are for folding. Glue a piece of yarn into the body of your dove and then glue the two sides of the dove together (folding on the dotted lines). Now you can hang your dove up. For a really neat mobile, print out many of these and attach them all to a hanger and the breezes will blow it around!

Of course, we must have at least one coloring page, right?

Memory Verse

Whenever the rainbow appears
in the clouds, I will see it and remember
the everlasting covenant between YAHWEH
and all living creatures of every
kind on the earth."
