Given at Conclusion of Youth Camp 2013

Good afternoon, everyone. You’ll have to excuse my voice also. I think we all got beat up by this camp [chuckles in audience]. I’m going to talk a little bit about prayer. Prayer is something that a lot of us haven’t done enough of in our life. I know I haven’t. I know that probably it is something I need to work on a lot more.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of Yahweh in Messiah Yahshua concerning you. To me, that is saying that, no matter where you are in your life; say, you’re on a float trip or you’re mowing a lawn, or you’re driving down the road, you can always pray to Yahweh and Yahshua. You can always talk to them, no matter what you’re doing, no matter where you are.
There have been times in my life that I’ve been depressed and had no one there to talk to me at all. I prayed to Yahshua and Yahweh and just felt relief that They were listening to me. They heard my prayer and answered my prayers.
Back in Texas, I play a lot of sports and during baseball, we’ve had times where we’ve been down in our games and we’ll pray and ask for help. So, now, every time in the fifth inning, we always have a prayer whether we are winning or losing. In football, before a game, we’ll always have a prayer for everyone to stay safe and everyone to have a good time during the game. No matter what happens, we all know that we’re just here to play a game. We’re coming out here to play for Yahweh and Yahshua and we thank them for giving us the chance and the abilities to play these games.
James 5:15-16, And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Master shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
If you are ever in a time, such as anyone being sick or someone gets hurt or if you are just feeling bad, you can always pray to Yahweh and Yahshua because they are always listening to you. You may not feel as if they are. You might not get a straight answer right then, but you should always know They are there listening to you and will always come around for you in the end.
